My room was comfortable, quiet (especially important) and the view was stunning. I enjoyed coffee with two local friends in a pleasant and quiet place; parking was fine. Excellent variety and quality of food for breakfast. The staff were always helpful and pleasant.
The newspapers in the reception area were limited.
Somerville is an heritage place in an island of astonishing beauty.
The whole experience mainly the hotel staff, who were attentative, friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. They made the break unforgettable
The brioche on my last breakfast was either stale of toasted. Please not this is not a complaint but a comment.
The views from the hotel are spectacular and close to restaurants
The hotel was perfectly situated to explore the island and the staff were very helpful in making sure what they could offer was their best.
My room was situated at the back of the hotel which was noisey and could be a negative to other guests
The dinners were excellent, the staff very helpful and the sitting rooms welcoming. However, the above reference to offensive language is itself, offensive.
The absence of a service charge - I find the request for gratuities rather embarrassing.
The Hotel is stunning, and has views across the bay, the food was first class and silver service to match, but be aware that there is a steep hill up to the hotel from the harbour and limited parking available in the town, the hotel does have ample parking and on a wet day the staff even appeared in the car-park with umbrellas, I would strongly recommend this hotel.
The rooms and bathrooms were extremely well-appointed and the restaurant and bar staff very well trained and polite on the whole.
A luxury yet not too formal comfortable hotel.Staff and food excellent .Location great
our room was small but did not affect the stay.Very clean and had everything we needed
We liked the calm relaxed atmosphere of the hotel. If you wanted peace and quite nobody bothered you.
Location, ambiance, staff, tradition, great breakfast, scenic view
The only improvement would be some sort of workout facility...
All we had hoped for. Excellent service and comfortable room; worth paying extra for sea view. V good cooked breakfast; freshly prepared and not a buffet. Superb poached eggs! Good location and much closer to restaurants than we thought; steep uphill return manageable and not as far as some reviews make out! Car is not essential. Would recommend this hotel.
Had a 1 night stay here on the 1st Feb. Staff were exceptional on check in, I had a taxi booked for me to evenign venue and return to airport within 2 minutes of checking in. Due to my early am departure they also organised breakfast to my room at no extra cost. I would definately stay here again for business, and with my family.
The staff were very friendly nothing was too much trouble for them the foof was excelent
It was precisely what was ordered, and expected. All the staff were extremely helpful and attentive. Our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, and afternoon tea delightful. We did not dine at night, so cannot comment. We would definitely choose this hotel for a future visit to Jersey.
